#Gw2 frozen out disconnect bug how to#
I enabled the CSMT option under staging, and since I'm new I don't know how to install DX, I wasn't prompted as I was for mono or when I tried this on Play On Linux which was an equal experience except my keyboard worked.Īnyway I hear you can get better performance on Wine, so I'm hoping someone can help. My second issue is extremely low FPS, either that or just rigid play, almost as if I had a slow internet connection. I have Wine to run the desktop as emulated and even to allow it to control the keyboard and mouse, but no sort of input is being accepted. I have an HP with 12GB DDR4 RAM, 2TB HDD, AMD A-12 processor.that about says it.Īnyway my issues are these, one: in GW2 my keyboard is not working.

I'm running Wine 2.4 staging on Ubuntu 16.04LTS with additional drivers for a Radeon R7. I apologize if my question has been posted before, I searched Google and found similar and not so similar questions, but the solutions either didn't work or the problem wasn't relevant. Thats exactly how it is for me too except that my chat sometimes updates but I cant send messages to chat.Hello, I'm new to the forums, new to Wine, and a Linux newb as well. I can be patient, but for the sake of others… Sincerely

Not being dramatic, but I guess I’ve been left out of things enough in my life, and GW2 has been one of the more accepting ones. Some people may even play with close friends or your partner. I know many of you probably count on gaming and the GW community to relax and socialize. Trying to to sound like a prick, but were I in university or working, both of which I soon will be, I might be a bit more pissy. At this point I’ve learned to just try again in 6 hours. A couple of times I got disconnected after starting the client fresh, before my character loads in the world. But like Mohawk says, when I do notice this and try to change maps or exit the overflow, it disconnects maybe 75% of the time. Yet I can still make progress and gain experience, even transfer maps. I have no idea if that kind of influence is even possible, but I thought I’d mention it.įurthermore, other mmos including GW1 are running even more smoothly in the last month since I changed cable plans (I used to get much more infrequent disconnects with GW1, but now? Perfect)įorgot to mention this but it’s probably generic behavior for a disconnect, but a few minutes before the severance, my chat stops updating and I can’t post. In addition, some days I have no problems at all! (So to me it would seem strange for it to be my hardware).Īnother possibility I thought of which seems to refute any correlation: The problem got worse when students went back to school earlier this month, so there are fewer sinks in the area in the morning than at night. The problem is MUCH less prevalent in the evening. Now, I find I can’t keep connected for more than 5 minutes in the mornings (-5:00 GMT, North American server). Then occasionally after half an hour to 2 hours, I would lose the server. I used to have no problem with disconnects close to launch. Live Security Essentials with all permissions for GW2 enabled. I’m running the same specs as you except for the following:ĪTI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (with latest drivers of course) Hi, I think I’ll piggyback on your post hoping it might attract some attention.

I was running fine up until the September 7th update (not a single crash/disconnect). Is there a definitive answer on how to fix this problem. I have read numerous other posts that people are having the same problems. Tried the openport 80 target line command on the gw2.exe with negative results. No internet connection problems (50mb cable connection) No anti-virus running (some may find this funny, but I run a tight network.) Vid Card – Nvidia 560Ti with most recent drivers (8.17.13.142)

I’m running Windows 7 Professional 64bit – current with all updates. Kind of getting frustrated here as I know it’s not on my end (all other games run smoothly with no lag, no disconnects). Doesn’t matter where I am, forests, towns, cities, whether they are populated or not. I’m getting constant disconnects with error popping up consistently after about 2-10mins worth of play time. I will try and be as thorough as possible.
